Alma Kinder Obituary

Alma MArie "Ellie" Kinder passed away on Friday, October 7, 2016 after a brief Illness. Ellie was born in Rogersville, New Brunswick on January 6, 1922 to Marguerite and Henry Stebbins. She attended schools in Portland, Maine, and worked as a counselor in the shipyards of Bath, Maine. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Herbert Earl Kinder, Jr "Tubby", two sons - Herbert "Butch" and John - and a grandson, Jamison Kinder. She is also preceded in death by sisters Beatrice, Evelyn, Irene, and Lorraine, and brothers Frances, Larry, Raymond, Robert and Roland. Ellie was a master quilter and craftsperson, antique collector and restorer, avid reader and news observer, and a passionate interior decorator. Most of all, Ellie was a beloved wife and mother. Ellie is survived by daughters Carole Pecora Attilio "Tee" of Frederick, MD, Candace Fontalbert Harold of Morgantown, WV and Robin Kinder Robin of Washington, DC. Devoted sons include Robert Patsy of Culloden, WV, Brent of Wheeling, WV and Tracey Mary Ann of Weirton, WV. Ellie is survived by 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren who remember her as a singular and unforgettable presence in their lives. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Dering-Henson Funeral Home 156 Foundry St. Morgantown, WV.
