Arthur W. Bill Mathess

Arthur William "Bill" Mathess 73, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2015, in Monongalia General Hospital. Beloved husband of Joan Mathess. Son of the late Bernard and Evelyn Mayfield Mathess. Loving father of Kimberly Ann Mathess Scafella and Tammy Rene Joe Hehnly. Brother of Bernie Mathess, Jim Wanda Mathess and Darlene Thomas Little. Grandfather of Marcus Scafella, Emily Scafella, Olivia Scafella, Stella Hehnly and Ava Anderson. Bill was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and was a retired Captain with over 40 years service with the West Virginia University Police Department. Family and friends welcome Friday from 5:00 to 9:00pm at Dering-Henson Funeral Home 412-296-6236 156 Foundry St, Morgantown, W.Va. Services will be held Saturday, August 22, 2015, in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Nicholson Chapel Cemetery.
