Emily M Jones, 78, of Morgantown, passed awaySunday, Mother's Day, May 10, 2015 at Mon General Hospital. She was born April 21, 1937 in Moundsville, WVand attended WVU where she received her degree in education. She went on to teach at several schools in several states before teaching at North Elementary when it opened and remaining until she retired. While at WVU she was in several honoraries and President of Kappa Kappa Gamma. Emily later returned to do her Masters in Ceramics at WVU and was part owner of a Morgantown craft shop in the downtown and an organizer of the Morgantown Craft Guild. She married Terry Jones in 1981 and they enjoyed traveling abroad and wintering in Hilton Head, SC where they actively played tennis, enjoyed biking and visiting friends. In addition to her husband she is survived by two children and families, Amy Gove of Princeton, MA and her husband Nathaniel and their children, Tucker and Bethany and David Harshbarger and his wife Colleen and their children, Eric and Brynn. Also surviving are her sisters, Janet Martin Spaulding and Brenda Calfee and Terry's two children and family, Deborah Canfield and her husband, Chris and their son, Cole, and Stephen Scott Jones and his children, Devin and Grant. Emily was an active member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, where she served on several committees and an active volunteer for the Morgantown Area Meals on Wheels. Friends may call Wesley UMC from 10 -11 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015. Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michael Q. Atkinson officiating. Private burial will follow.
