Ernest Lee Starkey

Ernest Lee Starkey, 65, of Morgantown passed away peacefully at Ruby Memorial Hospital on November 13, 2024. Ernest had lived in Morgantown since 1986 when he moved here to live in a group home. Over the years people will remember him when he received services from Coordinating Council for Independent Living (which he called Loving!), Valley Healthcare, PACE, West Virginia Advocates and REM WV. His family would like to thank all of these companies. Since 2018, he has lived in long-term facilities. Therefore, the family would also like to thank the staff and residents of Taylor Healthcare Center and Morgantown Healthcare Center for their dedication in caring for him.

Ernest entertained many folks over the years with his sharp wit and intelligence. If you met Ernest, you never forgot him- he touched thousands of lives over the years. Despite his life circumstances he demonstrated a true happiness and contentment with life that most of us never know. He will be missed by many.
