Flossie R. Blaney, 85, of Morgantown, passed away Friday, October 13, 2017 at Monongalia General Hospital. She was born June 26, 1932, a daughter of the late John P. Foster and Grace Trickett Foster. She graduated from Morgantown High School in 1950. She and her husband, Bruce, are owners of Ringgold Farms on the Grafton Road. She worked on the USDA Farm Service Agency State Board for more than ten years and was a life member of the VFW Post 548 Ladies Auxiliary and a life member of the Mon General Hospital Auxiliary. She was the last living charter member of the Clinton District Democratic Women's Club in Monongalia County which was organized in 1955. She was inducted into the Hall of Fame for the West Virginia Federation of Democratic Women for her many years of service to the State Executive Board. She was also the Outstanding Democrat of the Year for Monongalia County in 1996. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Bruce Blaney, one son, Bruce R. Blaney, of Morgantown, two daughters, Carole Hanlon of Harrisville, WV, and Carye L. Blaney of Morgantown two granddaughters, Khara Hanlon of New York, and Meghan Hanlon of Boston, MA three sisters, Lovela Beel of Leesburg, VA, Jacqueline Lankford of Morgantown, and Bonnie Austin of Thornton and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Carlton R. Foster and John P. Foster, Jr. , and a son-in-law, David G. Hanlon. Visitation will be Sunday, October 15, 2017, from 3:00-8:00 pm at Dering-Henson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, October 16, 2017 at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Morgantown. Caring services are provided by Dering-Henson Funeral Home.
