Gary Lance Devine-King, died suddenly Apr 5, 2018 at the age of 71. He was born Sep 10, 1946 in Elkin NC, the oldest child of George and Imogene King. Born into a military family, Gary traveled the world and gained experiences that would aid him becoming an Eagle Scout, serving honorably in the United States Army Special Forces, working as a Forest Ranger for the state of North Carolina, teaching Physics and Music at Garret County Community College, and ultimately through his retirement at Mylan Pharmaceuticals. During these various occupations, he met his wife Ann through mutual friends, and the two married in 1979. They lived in Charleston and Terra-Alta, but would finally settle down in Morgantown to raise their family. Through his life, Gary develop and honed a variety of skills and passion for a wide-range of activities including music, woodworking, science-fiction, dog handling, mountain biking, reading, drawing, judo, ping pong ,and competitive marksmanship. A truly well-rounded, caring, and intelligent person, Gary made an absolutely positive impression on the people and the world around him with both his attitude and work ethic. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Colleen and his wife Ann. He is survived by his son MSgt Joshua Devine-King, his wife Malisa, and grandson Connor sister Georgene Meys and her husband Dennis and their children Stephanie Warren, Abigail Meys, Bethany Medina, and Nathanael Meys.
