Gary L Guidi

Gary Lido Guidi, 73, of Morgantown, died Monday, June 25, 2018 at the Madison Rehabilitation Center and Nursing Facility. He was born April 3, 1945 in Jefferson, PA and raised in Maidsville, WV a son of the late Idamo 'Geno' Guidi and Sarah Benematti Guidi. He was a graduate of St. Francis Catholic High School and WVU, where he majored in Physical Education and English. After graduating college, he coached basketball at Suncrest Junior High School, Pocohontas County High School and Richwood High School. In later years he worked for Island Creek Coal Company in the Labor Relations Department and subsequently, opened several of his own coal mines. He was best known around the Morgantown area as the owner of Bugsy's Bar on the Pt. Marion Rd. Gary is survived by a son, Gary Christopher Guidi, of Morgantown a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Guidi Richard Stein , of New York, two grandchildren, Lily Stein and James Stein, his former wife, Mary Jo Guidi, of Wheeling , a sister, Alfreda Dulaney and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Guidi and Lewis Guidi. At Gary's request, there will be no public services. Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the Guidi family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Gary's name, to a youth area basketball program of your choice. Caring services are provided by Dering-Henson Funeral Home.
