Johnny Rudolph Stephens, 87, of Morgantown, passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 at his residence with his loving wife and family by his side. He was born December 17, 1933 in Toronto, OH, a son of the late John Wilbur Stephens and Beulah Cain Stephens and was the last remaining of his eleven siblings. He was also a proud United States veteran, having served in the Korean War. Johnny retired from Allegheny Energy Fort Martin Power Station after twenty seven years on March 31, 1992 as a control room foreman. On November 1, 1953, Johnny married his true love, Ruth 'Babe' Casino and for sixty seven years, they worked hard and raised their family in Morgantown. Together, they loved to travel and have visited all forty eight continental states. He enjoyed going to car shows and going for car rides. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his wife and family. He was the best husband, father, and grandpa anyone could ever have and will be missed by everyone who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Ruth 'Babe' Casino Stephens; two sons, Mark A. Stephens William Rutherford of Morgantown and Dennis J. Stephens Deborah Stephens of Vero Beach, FL; grandchildren, Dennis John Stephens II April Stephens, Holly Marie Stephens, Marka Marie Staley John Staley, and Morgan Alyssa Simonetti Scott Simonetti; great grandchildren, Tori Alexis Stephens, Dennis John 'Trey' Stephens III, and Guinevere B Ruth Simonetti and daughter in law, Anna Marie Biafora Stephens-Hawkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph Stephens, Rufus, Stephens, Raymond Stephens, Yauden Stephens, Wallace Stephens, Layne Stephens, and William Corbin Stephens and his sisters, Mary 'Bea' Nonamaker, Edith Williams, Constance Morris, and Wilma 'Jean' Haun. Visitation will Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Dering-Henson Funeral Home, 156 Foundry St. Morgantown, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 1p.m. with Pastor Neil Leftwich officiating. Burial will follow in the East Oak Grove Cemetery. Due to COVID 19, visitors must wear face masks and practice social distancing.
