Joyce Lynn Aitken 69, of Morgantown, went home to be with the Lord after an extended stay in Mon General Hospital on Friday, July 24, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was born in Morgantown to Elmer and Nellie Henry on January 12, 1946. She went to Morgantown High School and graduated in 1963. She went on to earn a Business and Accounting degree at the W.Va. Business College. She worked at West Virginia University in the departments of Financial Aid and Office of Student Loans for 44 years. She was inducted into the WVU Hall of Fame and Outstanding Achievement in 2009. She was a trustee of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, a member of the Happy H Club and a volunteer employee at Mon General Hospital in the Women's Imaging Department. Joyce enjoyed cooking, movies, shopping and spending time with her family. Joyce's family would like to thank the physicians, nurses and staff of Mon General Hospital for the care shown to both Joyce and her family while she was in their care. Joyce is survived by her husband of 43 years Eugene daughter Brenda son Stephen daughter in law Deanna grandson Quinten sister Joanne Sheetz of Hellertown, PA and nieces and a nephew. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Nellie Rhoda Henry, and two brothers Eugene and Clifford Henry. Friends may call Thursday, July 30, 2015, from 2:00-4:00p.m. and 6:00-8:00p.m., in Dering-Henson Funeral Home, 156 Foundry St, Morgantown, W.Va. 26505. Service will be Friday 11:30a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Rick Howard officiating. Burial to follow in East Oak Grove Cemetery.
