Karen Park Obituary

Karen Hiner Park, 70, of Morgantown, passed away September 22, 2020 at WVU Hospital Ruby Memorial. She was born, August 28, 1950 a daughter of the Lewis A. Hiner and Ethel Leggit Hiner. She was our shoulder to cry on and our anchor. She loved us all dearly especially her grandchildren, Keith, Hunter, and Ashley and her great grandchildren Kjay and Korben. Karen was a woman who loved the outdoors and had the gift of gab. There was never a moment she ever passed up to spend time laughing with her family. She was a devoted wife to our father, Lee. No sacrifice was too big for her to handle as she supported him through his career in the Coast Guard until we could come back to West Virginia. Together, there was nothing Lee and Karen wouldn't do for their children, Starla and Lee. The most important thing they taught them was how to love and they showed it every day. Now, our father has come to take her home. We will miss her every day but, we are honored in knowing that her legacy lives on this way. Karen is survived by her children, Lee Park Krista of Morgantown and Starla Park Blosser Bill of Morgantown, two brothers; Gary Hiner, of Brookfield, OH and Junior Hiner Maggie, of Brookfield , OH, a sister, Janet Exline, of Salem, OH, three grandchildren, Keith Blosser, Hunter Park, and Ashley Park, and two great grandchildren, Kjay Blosser and Korben. In addition to her parent, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Theophilus Park , a sister, Sandy Hiner, sister in law, Lola Hiner and a brother in law, Jim Exline. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of her life, 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Coopers Rock State Park Pavillion 1 with Rev. Ray Frankhauser officiating. Please practice social distancing and wear a face covering. Caring services are provided by Dering-Henson Funeral Home. Condolences dering-henson.com
