Laura B. Darnell

Laura B. Deavers Darnell, 86, of Morgantown, died Sunday, July 22, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 1, 1931 in Osage, WV a daughter of the late Harold Deavers and Margaret Shaffer Deavers. She is survived by her children; Robert L. " Butch" Darnell and companion, Margaret Dewitt, of Morgantown, Roger "Pete" Darnell and companion Lucille D. Everly , of Pennsylvania , and Sandra "Sandy" Miller and her husband Tim Miller, of Morgantown, her sisters; Patricia "Patty" Gardner, of Ohio and Rose Darnell, of Morgantown, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. "Bob" Darnell, her sons; Thomas "Tom" Darnell, James "Jim" Darnell, and Charles "Charlie" Darnell, a daughter, Betty Darnell, sisters; Mary Mollard, Virginia Bennett, and Joyce Rakosi, and a brother, Richard "Dick" Deavers. Laura enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and bingo, as well as spending time with her family. She was a methodist by faith. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 3-5 and 7-9 at Dering-Henson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2018 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Stanley Merrifield officiating. Burial will follow in the Fletcher Cemetery, Cheat Lake.
