Loretta Joe Post

Loretta Jo Yost, 85, of Morgantown, WV died peacefully on December 24, 2016 after an extended illness. She was born Loretta Jo Moore on August 25, 1931 to the late Charles Moore and Grace Headley Moore. She shared 66 years of her life with Russell Don Yost, with whom she married on August 7, 1950. Don and Jo made their home on Tyrone Rd. area of Cheat Lake for nearly 60 years most recently residing at Babbling Brook Estates during the summer months. For more than 20 years they lived in Sebring, FL during the winter. was a life-long member of the Church of Christ and a retired employee from the Monongalia County Board of Education. Loretta Jo loved and created many crafts and was a juried craftsperson who displayed her specialty work at regional and state craft venues for many years. She was the owner "Country Cottage", a small local craft store. She enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking. She collected antiques and was fond of glass baskets and glass covered pedestal cake plates. Loretta Jo is survived by her husband, Russell Don Yost two sons, Timothy Yost of Pittsburgh, PA and James Yost of Morgantown, WV one granddaughter Madison Grace Yost, of Pittsburgh her sister Almeada Darrell Eddy of Bridgeport WV and Molly, the family dog. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Herbert "Doc" Branham her brother, Gary D. Branham and one son, Russell Douglas Yost. Friends may call Dering-Henson Funeral Home Monday, January 2nd, 2017 from 3-5 and 7-9. Funeral services will be 1:00PM Tuesday, January 3rd, 2017 in the funeral home chapel with Ben Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Cemetery, Daybrook, WV.
