Martha Elizabeth Slaughter

Martha E. Slaughter, 83, of Independence, WV died Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born February 13, 1931 in Everettesville, WV, a daughter of the late Andrew G. Matuskey and Marion K. Matuskey. She retired from Grafton City Hospital where she was an LPN. She is survived by two sons, Scott Michael Slaughter of Morgantown and Matthew Slaughter of Halleck Community, a daughter, Mary Catherine Faino of Warminster, PA , three brothers, Jimmy Matuskey, Robert Matuskey, and Ronald Matuskey, two sisters, Helen Banis, and Mary Ann Lynn, six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Basil Slaughter Sr., a son, Basil Slaughter Jr., and daughter, Rebecca Ann Slaughter, a brother, Andrew Matuskey, and two sisters, Mary Catherine McGinnis and Sylvia Mitchel. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2014 at the Halleck Cemetery with Jerry Dooley officiating. Condolences online to dering-henson.com.
