Mary Wood Obituary

Mary Jane Wood, 47, of Morgantown, died unexpectedly Wednesday, November 19, 2014. She was born February 16, 1967 in Detroit, MI., a daughter of John "Jack" Dailey and Catherine "Katie" Carney Dailey. Mary Jane was a graduate of Regina High School in Harper Woods, MI. and a graduate of the University of West Florida where she received a BS in business administration. She was a scholarship athlete at UWF where she was the pitcher on the softball team and was second team all american in 1988. After her graduation from college, she went on to do graduate work at Lynchburg College and work for Kraft Foods. She immediately excelled at her job and received numerous awards. In 1992, while at Lynchburg College, she met her soul mate and the love of her life, Mike. They married at the University of Virginia Chapel on March 2, 1996 and humorously enough, left the chapel in the Oscar Mayer wiener mobile. They both had a dream of owning their own automobile dealership. So, in 2001, they took the leap and moved to Morgantown to start that process. In 2005 they made the dream a reality and it flourished from there. They watched their business grow together. It was her determination, hard work, and ability to relate with people, that has made everything she did a success. There was never a job too big, too small, to dirty , or too hard that she didn't do. Mary Jane was involved with the PTO at her children's school and was proud to be on the Cheat Lake beautification committee. She was a passionate spirit that touch everyone she met and in everything that she sought out to do. Her greatest role in life was being an amazing mother to her two children, a loving adored wife to her husband and the most perfect daughter to her parent. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church , a former catechist at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church and St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church and chairman of the Morgantown Tea Party. Though her life was short, her contributions were many. She will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Mary Jane is survived by her husband, Michael "Mike" Wood, a son, Jacob Michael Wood, a daughter, Savanah Christine Wood, and a brother, J. Michael Dailey. She was preceded by her brother, J. Patrick Dailey.
