Patrick Rundle Obituary

Patrick Joseph Rundle, 84, of Morgantown, WV, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, surrounded by family and friends.

Born on December 1, 1940, in Everettville, WV, Pat was the son of the late Fred Rundle Sr. and Anne Elizabeth (Woodward) Rundle.

He was proud to have been baptized into the Catholic faith later in life—an experience that held deep personal meaning for him. Pat was married to his wife, Sandra Lorenze Rundle, for 60 years. Pat and Sandy traveled across the country in their bus showing Harlequin Great Danes, including their beloved champion, Mylan. They were proud members of the Western Pennsylvania Great Dane Club.

As a young man, Pat was a talented baseball player, part of a championship Pony League team. After high school, he moved to Washington, D.C., where he worked for the airlines before returning home to pursue a range of entrepreneurial ventures. He owned and operated the Tenpin Lounge and several coal mines, and later, alongside Sandy, opened the iconic Fat Daddy’s Night Club on Chestnut Street. If you grew up in Morgantown in the '70s or '80s, chances are you danced on their famous lighted floor.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy; his godson, Brian Cappellini, who remained faithfully by his side; his daughter, Patrice Bullister; and many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Pat was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Rundle Jr., and sisters, Bertha Malone and Roberta Coates.

Private services will be held at St. Mary Peace Gardens with Fr. John V. DiBacco presiding.
