Ricky Leland Ward, 66, of Morgantown, WV, passed away peacefully in his sleep September 22, 2025. He was born April 2, 1959, in Morgantown.
He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He was a well admired pillar of his community and a follower of Jesus Christ. He served as a teacher, supervisor, and trustee of Sunday school at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. Working primarily in automotive sales, he had a very successful career and made a multitude of friends along the way.
Ricky deeply loved and cared about his family, especially his grandchildren. His love of Jesus, his church family, a nice cigar and classic cars was unparalleled. He was one of a kind and made a tremendous impact on so many people's lives.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Ward Sr; his mother, Francine Ward; younger sister, Karen Ward; and granddaughter, Tyesha Dawn Smith.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Ward; siblings: Jack, Dana and Jason Ward; daughters: Amber Ward and Ashlee Parker; stepchildren: Christina Lorenz Bolyard, Micheal Jackson, Stefan Gatlin, Jamal Smith, Karell Smith; and many grandchildren.
A special thank you to Morgantown Hospice and its nurses, for his wonderful care.
