Robbie Riley Obituary

Robbie Mae Riley was born in York Run, PA on February 06, 1925 to John and Minnie Winfrey. She graduated from Georges Township High School on May 20, 1943. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Pittsburg, PA. There she met Willie James Riley Sr. aka Scoots. They were united in marriage in Pittsburg, PA on September 22, 1945. To this union three children were born Deborah Riley-Young, Willie James Riley Jr. and Sharon Riley-Tipton. Robbie was a loving sister to three brothers John Winfrey Jr. , Ebenezer E.B. Winfrey and Lloyd Winfrey and to one sister Rose Winfrey-Montgomery. John, Lloyd and Rose all preceded her in death. Robbie and Willie J. Scoots Riley moved to West Virginia to work and raise their children. Robbie worked for years as a Teacher's Aide in the West Virginia Department of Education System and later retired from there. She also loaned her services to the Salvation Army and Christian Help Programs as a volunteer. She was a good cook and enjoyed preparing food for others and watching them enjoy the food. She prepared food and at her home fed Pastors, students, family and friends and did so with a servant's heart. Robbie was also a craftsman. She crafted chair covers, curtains and window dressings as well as Christmas ornaments. Most importantly, Robbie was a Spiritual Warrior with a heart of pure gold. She loved people and would always go above and beyond to make them comfortable despite all circumstances. She never met a stranger. She was an encourager. She spoke her mind but always with a caring and loving nature. Robbie loved the Lord. Praise and Worship was her passion. She loved to sing. She praised and worshiped all the way from St. Stephen's Baptist Church to Jesus Mission to Power House Deliverance Church to Maranatha Church and to Straightgate International Church. Robbie taught faith to her children, grandchildren, friends, associates and enemies. She left no one behind and often stated that everyone should come to know the Lord as their personal savior in order to live. As her health challenges began to decline, she was moved to Detroit, MI to live with her daughters. She never lost faith. Some of her last words were "I'm ready to go home," "I'm just thinking about Heaven," and "You all have to let me go home to be with JESUS." On December 20, 2015 at 11:05 A.M., GOD invited her home. Her spirit rejoices now in VICTORY! Robbie leaves to cherish her memory: 1 Brother Ebenezer E.B. Winfrey, 1 son Willie J. Riley Jr., 2 daughters Deborah Young and SharonAlbertTipton, 1 Step son PeteRuthieShade, 1 Step daughter Jean Massenburg, 3 Nephews Albert & Vincent Winfrey and Eddie Montgomery, 3 Nieces Sylvia & Brittany Winfrey and Michelle Montgomery, 9 Grand children Bryan, Angela, Mykah, Destiny, Tanisha, Albert, Marcus, Aaron and Tiara, 14 Great grandchildren, 3 Great-Great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
