Russell Allen Johnson

Russell Allen Johnson, 82, of Morgantown passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at home. Russell was born in Morgantown on July 22, 1936, a son of the late William and Adeline Johnson. Russell worked for the company store in Osage and then owned his refrigeration service, Johnson Service. Russell enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working in his shop, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and his cat Jasper. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Carolyn. A son and spouse, Allen and Teresa Johnson. A daughter and spouse Brenda and Danny Ferrell all of Morgantown. Grandchildren Amanda Marie Ferrell, Michael and spouse, Tiffany Ferrell, Nathan . Ferrell, Jonathan Johnson all of Morgantown and Justin Shinkovich of Houston, Texas. Great Grandchildren Ryan Stottlemire 11, Hunter Ferrell Lukac, Jaxon Ferrell, Sophia White, and Addalynn Johnson all of Morgantown. Russell was the last surviving member of his family and is survived by his loving nephews and nieces. Nephews Chuck and Cathy Johnson and Dennis and Linda Johnson, nieces Linda and Marvin Brown and Kathy and Bob Tokarcik. He was proceeded in death by his brother Charles Johnson, his sister Edna Johnson Rice, and an infant brother. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Dering-Henson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Cremation services will follow. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Amedysis Hospice Care for all their wonderful, compassionate care - especially Marcella, Melissa, and Jennifer.
