Sandra Allison Moss (née Sandra Joan Shaver), 80, passed away after a sudden illness in Morgantown, West Virginia on November 4, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Edith Shaver, and her husband, Robert Allison. She is survived by her husband, Craig Moss; children, Julia Soto (Miguel), Penelope Allison (Jim), and Tre Allison; and granddaughters, Olivia Soto, Gabrielle Soto, and Allison Baughman.
Life was an adventure for Sandra. Growing up on the family farm near Flatwoods, West Virginia, she was the first in her family to attend college, finishing her undergraduate degree in Biology at Morris Harvey College in Charleston, West Virginia in 1967 and a graduate degree in Childhood Development and Family Relations at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia in 1973. Following her formal education, she was employed in a variety of settings, continuing on a path of personal growth and development.
A wonderful listener with a generous heart and a caring spirit, she delighted in drawing on her knowledge and experience to assist and support others. Sandra’s true passions in life were spending time with her family and friends, reading, travel, and gardening.
In keeping with Sandra’s wishes, no formal service will be held. If you wish to honor and remember her, the family suggests that donations be made to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library or a charity of your choice.
Caring services are being provided by Dering-Henson Funeral Home.
