William Rodd III Obituary

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- William (Billy) Herron Rodd’s spirit left his body and this world to be in a better place on April 17, 2024.

He was born March 8, 1960, in Pittsburgh, PA,

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Bets (Cartwright) Rodd, and sisters, Mary Furbee and Liz Rodd.

Billy is survived by sisters, Jessie Blaney, Susan Case and Becky Rodd, and brother, Tom Rodd, along with a large family of in-laws, nieces and nephews. He loved them all and took many of them on memorable road trips and adventures throughout his life.

Billy was the youngest of seven siblings, all of whom loved him dearly.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. For many years he was a letter carrier based at the Morgantown Post Office and made many friends along his walking route downtown.

Billy was an avid reader. His favorite reading spot was at the beach where he would sit for hours reading and watching the ocean.
