Our History

Dering’s Funeral Home is a long standing establishment of Morgantown. It was originally formed in 1909 by Fred Dering then was operated by his son, Edward Dering for a number of years. In 1984 the Dering family sold the funeral home to Franklin Matthews who successfully ran the operations until 2008. After working for Dering’s Funeral Home for fifteen years, Thomas Henson had the privilege and honor of buying the funeral Home and changed the name to Dering-Henson Funeral Home. He enjoys meeting and serving the people of the community and is proud Dering’s has been a community friend since 1909.
